Typically, this service costs $290 per month. During this promotion, the cost will only be $30 per month for an entire year. This opportunity will allow churches that do not have video equipment to stream audio only. The COCBN player accommodates both audio and video webcasts.
The churches involved with COCBN TV will broadcast their own programming as an affiliate channel of the network on their respective websites, as well as, national programming provided by COCBN and other church of Christ related sources.
The local congregations will serve as the foundation of COCBN-TV. While most programs are available on cocbn.org, the home website of COCBN, many programs will only be available through COCBN affiliate sites.
The 100 Church Initiative is designed to offer churches of Christ a low-cost method of developing media ministries using COCBN technology. For the first time, national programs will be delivered simultaneously on church websites similar to television and radio. The COCBN player also allows for live audio/video streaming, audio/video-on-demand, pay per view of special events, and digital downloads.
The first 100 churches to register as COCBN Affiliates will receive the streaming service at 10% of the normal service fee. This offer will last until either 100 churches have registered or the close of 2008, whichever comes first.
The objective of the broadcast network is to give churches of Christ a medium in which to deliver the gospel message and Christian programs to the masses without the high cost of television airtime. Traditionally
The network will serve the church by providing opportunities for churches to evangelize and teach using the technology. COCBN will open its bandwidth to ministries and church organizations that previously had little or no access to the mass public. Disaster relief organizations may use COCBN-TV to broadcast public service announcements. The potential of use is only limited by the imagination of the members of the church.
Current channels offered through COCBN are local church channels (Affiliates), COCBN-TV for general Christian broadcasts, and wVusic105am for acappella music and videos. Other channels will be added as COCBN enters into agreements with content providers and webcast owners.
