Church of Christ Drop-off Spot for Flood Assistance

Commerce Street Church of Christ is accepting donations for the victims of the June 18, 2007 flooding. Three people were killed and the Gainesville, Texas community devastated in the flooding. Homes and animals were washed away in the flash flooding.

The city is trying to recover, but will need a lot of help. Texas has declared Cooke County a disaster area - so money will come, but the immediate need is for the items victims need now.

The Commerce Street Church of Christ, 602 N. Commerce St., is taking cleaning supplies, food, baby supplies and personal care items to distribute to victims. The Salvation Army requests soft drinks, water, sugar free drink, juice, fruit cups, cereal bars, fruit, lunch meat, bread and anything for sandwiches and hand sanitizers. Supplies maybe dropped off near First State Bank on California Street.
